ALL SET FOR CDHR AGC ON SATURDAY 24TH JANUARY 2026
Nigeria's foremost human and civil rights organization, the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) is set to hold it's Annual General Conference (AGC) on Saturday 24th January 2026, with notable human and civil rights personalities, groups and organizations, labour unions, branches and members of the NBA, as well the BOT, national delegates, representatives from the 36 states of the federation branches and the federal capital territory Abuja and members, expected in attendance.
This year's conference which will come up at Maridom Palace hotel in the ancient city of Ota in Ado Odo Otta local government council area of Ogun State, will have as it's theme: "Human Rights as our Everyday Essentials: Fundamental, Inviolable and Indiscriminate".
The key note speaker will be Prof Lucky Akaruese, while the lead discussant will be Barrister Gbenga Awosode with others which include, 2 former national presidents of the CDHR Barrister Olasupo Ojo and Sunny Enenuvwedia and the branch chairmen of the NBA Abeokuta and Ibadan branches, amongst others.
Also expected in attendance are notable human rights lawyer Barrister Femi Falana (SAN), the leadership and members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and it's affiliates, among several others.
The AGC is expected to feature a lecture on the state of the nation, inaugurate new branches, convoke the national council meeting and the election of the national executive committee of the organization. A communique on the state of the nation is also expected from the AGC.
