Oyenike Oyekan Foundation 5th Anniversary Continues With Gifts To A Special School and Home
The Oyenike Oyekan foundation in commemoration of it's 5th year anniversary, on Monday 10th November 2020, visited two institutions with vulnerable children and gifted them items which range from foodstuffs, household items, solar lights, etc.
The Oyenike Oyekan foundation was led by the board members in persons of pharmacists Oyedapo Idowu and Tosin Ishola as well as the managing consultant Nelson Ekujumi, programme coordinator Precious Fasiku, Felix Joel and Dideolami Adetuberu.
While receiving the team in her office, Mrs Akinkunmi Oladunni the principal of Sabol international School, a school for children with special needs, welcomed the team for the yearly anniversary visit which comes with a lot of goodies for the school and for checking up on a student in the school on Oyenike Oyekan foundation scholarship Oshola Israel who is suffering from cerebral palsy.
Mr. Oyedapo Idowu commended the principal and staff for the care for the children and re-emphasized that in line with the legacy of late Oyenike Oyekan and what she stood for, the foundation in her memory has kept on track in the last 5 years. According to him, "We are here as usual in our tradition to check up on Oshola Israel and the school and to fulfill our promise of solar lights".
The principal then invited student Oshola Israel from his classroom to meet with his adopted parents from Oyenike Oyekan foundation, who went through his books and were updated on how his health condition has improved tremendously, just as the principal prayed for God to bless and sustain the foundation to do more for the children and society at large. The principal said, "We are very happy to receive you once again and we pray that God will continue to sustain the foundation to fulfill it's mission and vision".
Mr. Oyedapo Idowu, then made a presentation of the promised solar lights and cartons of beverages on behalf of the Oyenike Oyekan foundation to the school.
The next stop of the team was the Children of Promise Ministries, a home for orphaned and vulnerable children where the they were received by the hostel matron who expressed her delight and on behalf of the children for the visit. She prayed for more support from the foundation for it's service to humanity.
Mr. Tosin Ishola made a presentation that the Oyenike Oyekan foundation have in the last 5 years been following in the footsteps of the late Oyenike Oyekan who used to visit the home regularly to celebrate her birthday and other festivities with the children by donating items.
The team once again as in it's yearly anniversary tradition, donated a bag of rice, and other foodstuffs such as bag of salt, cartons of indomie, spaghetti, groundnut oil, drinks, biscuits, semovita, etc. to the home.
